St John and St Stephen's church has been named as the 50th Gold Eco Church by A Rocha.
Around 50 civic, community, and faith leaders met on Sunday 9 June, hosted by Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. The aim was to build relationships and share local insights and experiences to mitigate the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict on the diverse communities of the Thames Valley region.
Church attendance across the Diocese of Oxford, which includes Buckinghamshire, has continued to grow in the last year, mirroring figures which were released by the Church of England earlier this week.
Two intrepid (and fit!) members of the diocese joined the bi-annual fundraising cycle from Westminster to Islip on Sunday. Bishop Gavin and our Finance Director John Orridge hit the saddle to tackle the Islip Big Bike and raise funds for St Nicholas church, Islip, and local school, Dr South’s CofE Primary.
Working at the Taizé Community in France in her mid-20s started Joan's journey to being part of the first cohort of women to be ordained priest in 1994.
Women took centre stage at a special Eucharist service at Christ Church Cathedral to mark 30 years since women were first ordained priests in the diocese.
