On Saturday 4 th October, 34 children and volunteers braved the elements to take part in a sponsored bike ride at Fritwell CE School near Bicester in Oxfordshire.
The event which had been organised by the staff at the school was to raise money for the heart charity PHA (Pulmonary Hypertension Association).
A former member of staff at the school is currently being treated for this rare condition. The children taking part in the event were aged from three to 11 and either completed laps of the field, playground or MUGA or a circuit on the local roads.
Despite the damp conditions all the children taking part did so with enthusiasm and a smile on their faces.

to raise funds for others. Mrs Churchill, who led the organisation of the event, is herself taking part in her own personal biking challenge in February.
This challenge will see her cycling approximately 500km across northern India, along with 19 other women from nearby villages, all in aid of various heart charities.
She is still busy collecting in the sponsorship money from the children but has so far raised in excess of £500.
