Everyday Discipleship'.Everyday Discipleship

Explore some of the many aspects of following Jesus with an emphasis on reflecting on ’where I am in my faith journey’ and prayerfully discerning where Jesus might be calling me to grow. This course is for anyone who wants to consider and explore aspects of discipleship and spirituality for today, grow through study and reflection with others online, discover new perspective, deepen their discipleship or explore a call to minister in some way.

The course starts with an online welcome evening on 23 April at 7.30pm, and is made up of weekly online tutorials with an on-site study day at Bletchingdon Village Hall on 7 June. Book now via Eventbrite.

Pastoral CareText reads Pastoral Care

All Christians care for others, but some discover a particular gift or ministry in this area. This course is for people already involved in pastoral care or those wanting to discover more about this ministry. Come ready to learn more about the nature of pastoral care, different ways we can care well for each other, some practical skills to help in all this and how theological understandings of healing, wholeness and being human can help inform our practice.

Case studies will cover a range of circumstances, including (for example): times of transition and loss, ‘ages and stages’, things that can’t be ‘fixed’, awareness of mental health and domestic abuse.

The course is made up of weekly online tutorials with two on-site study days the first at Bletchingdon Village Hall on the 10 May and the second on the 14 June at Church House, Oxford.

Book now via Eventbrite.

What are the learning pathways?

We offer three different formats of course - Bite-sized, Going deeper, and Study groups.

Bite-sized

Work through topics at your own pace at a time that suits you.

Each section includes a film, questions and something to reflect on. Allow three hours per topic.

Going deeper

Learn online at your own pace, or as part of a local group exploring five or six sessions together.

Going deeper courses take around 15 hours to complete.

Study groups

Study groups take place each term. They are open to all and designed to be accessible to everyone in the church.

Allow for 40 hours of study over 8–10 weeks.

New Bite-Sized Course: Called to Wonder

Where do you see God in the small, everyday things? Where do you feel most connected with God in creation? What leaves you in awe or fascinates you?

We hope you enjoy reflecting on these and other questions as you watch six videos, hear people’s stories, and hopefully, find fresh inspiration for loving and serving our Creator.
