Last week, over 200 parishes in the diocese were among those contacted by APCS to confirm a data breach.
APCS is used to provide DBS checks. Intradev, a software provider working with APCS, suffered a cyber attack and APCS are now working to contact all parishes involved.
This was a breach from a third party which does not have access to our systems and does not affect the data the diocese holds. Those who have been affected are being informed directly with advice on the steps to take to protect themselves.
If you have any questions about this please contact communications@oxford.anglican.org in the first instance.
We understand that this news is concerning and have been working hard with the national Church and APCS throughout the last few days to provide the best possible guidance we can to parishes affected.
