The Archdeaconry of Berkshire
Holy Trinity Reading - Priest in Charge
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, missional, and collaborative priest of The Society to take forward the exciting renewal of Holy Trinity Reading and be an active partner in the wider ministry of the Deanery.
You will have a love for the Church's liturgical life of worship and prayer, a love for the People of God, a passion to communicate the Gospel and teach the Church's Faith, and a deep desire to grow the congregation spiritually and numerically. You will be inspired to work courageously and compassionately, ministering to some of the most deprived communities in Reading. A strategist, you will identify opportunities and collaborate joyfully with partners (including neighbouring parishes) to meet creatively the various needs of the parish and to increase engagement of the Church with the world around it, especially in respect of Children and Young People.
This post is funded for six years, with the expectation that the parish will become financially self-sustaining through Parish Share thereafter. In addition, there are resources available to offer administrative and building management, to support the mission of the parish and its renewal.
The parish is situated in the Archdeaconry of Berkshire, in the Oxford Diocese, and falls under the sacramental and pastoral oversight of the Bishop of Oswestry (an Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Oxford). If you would like to talk more about the context of the parish please contact the Reverend Canon Liz Jackson, Associate Archdeacon of Berkshire (liz.jackson@oxford.anglican.org).
All appointments are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
