
St Paul’s Church Slough Vacancy
Intercultural Ministry Enabler, Part-Time 32 Hours per week including a 30min per day break

We are a Bible-based and Christ-centred intercultural worshipping community within the Church of England and Global Anglican Communion. We are also the Intercultural Resourcing Hub for the Diocese of Oxford.
In addition to the usual Sunday services with contemporary worship, our Church organises small weekday homegroups and larger language fellowships, enabling biblical study, teaching and prayer. We have a lot of other activities going on during the week in our buildings, such as youth groups, plus external hires and a nursery business.
Following a staffing review, we are looking to fill the post of Intercultural Mission Enabler, who can assist the Vicar in promoting intercultural awareness, openness to other cultures and discern the value of different traditions to grow in faith together.
As Intercultural Mission Enabler, you will play an active part in the church community and your main tasks will be to promote cultural understanding, positive behaviours to stimulate cultural integration and cohesion. You will also be required to share and develop our intercultural ethos with other Parishes in our Deanery and also throughout the wider Diocese. You will facilitate, identify and create study materials for the intercultural learning communities and organise meetings and conferences with these communities. This role is part funded by the C of E Strategic Development Fund and you will work closely with the racial justice department of the Diocese.
Excellent computer skills and experience with promoting faith activities on social media, excellent communication & interpersonal skills (both spoken and written) will be required to be successful in this role. This 32 hours per week role, has flexible working hours and the ability to attend evening meetings. The role is part based in the church and a willingness to travel to other churches is essential. Expenses incurred in connection with this will be reimbursed. A full driving licence would be beneficial, but is not essential.

A salary starting at £24,021 is offered plus an 8% employers pension contribution, together with 25 days annual paid leave.
