The Benefice of Datchet, Eton, Eton Wick, Boveney and Dorney is still in its forming stage, hence the current title being Priest-in-Charge. It is set along the north side of the Thames River, nestled between Windsor and Slough accessible to the M4, M25, and M40 along with rail links to London, and is a short distance from Heathrow airport. The Benefice churches are linked by easy travel roads, open parklands and a section of the beautiful Thames Path walk.
We are prayerfully looking for someone who:
- Is Christ-centred, able to demonstrate insight and wisdom in discernment of God’s word, and is prayerful for the good of self and others.
- Has a broad experience of life, empathy, compassion and good interpersonal skills.
- Is proven to work collaboratively and demonstrates a commitment to and delivery of church growth, growing disciples of all ages, and reaching out to the communities.
- Is able to foster a climate of encouragement and affirmation for all, facilitating others to come to know, grow and develop their particular ministry and gifts,
- Is eager to work with and encourage lay involvement, to further develop relationships with the schools, both primary and secondary, that are a key aspect of the communities.
- Is keen to develop a Vision for the Benefice enabling each parish to identify their own unique role and contribution to the whole.
- Has a strong understanding of, and commitment to, Safeguarding.
