Youth, Children and Families Minister, St Paul’s Slough

You will be responsible for

1) Line Management of Volunteers: Overseeing safer recruitment, rotas and team meetings. 
2) Outreach and Engagement: Developing creative and relevant outreach programmes to connect with children, youth, and families within our parish and the broader community.
3) Discipleship and Spiritual Growth: Facilitating age-appropriate Bible studies, workshops, and mentoring opportunities to nurture the spiritual development of children, youth, and families.
4) Youth Empowerment: Establishing children and youth groups that promote leadership, personal growth, and active participation in church life.
5) Family Support: Providing pastoral care and support services to families, addressing their unique parenting needs and challenges and promoting unity, understanding, and mutual support.
6) Stronger Relationships: Helping families with children and youth within our congregation to be well-connected and integrated into the church's life and service ministries. 
7) Community Impact: Collaborating with local schools, community organisations, and partners to extend the reach of our ministry and positively impact the lives of children, youth, and families.

What the post holder will need to have

  • Ability to explain the Bible to children and young people
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or mentoring settings.
  • Knowledge of special education principles is a plus.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children and youth.
  • Previous experience in youth work or related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pastoral care skills and experience.

What the post holder will receive

£38,000 - £40,000 per annum for three years with scope to fundraise for further employment. 
Scope for further professional and spiritual development through training and resourcing throughout the year.
Support and encouragement from the whole staff team and the youth and children’s oversight group.
