Moving forward

While the past year has been challenging in many ways, there is much to be positive about. We have welcomed two new bishops as well as the people of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands as the link between our two dioceses was officially recognised.

Our work to focus on children and young people, having been unanimously endorsed by Diocesan Synod, has been taken up across the diocese, as our church congregations continue to build back from the lockdowns.

Positive external endorsement of both our Development Fund and safeguarding team, via the INEQE independent review, is an encouragement for the progress we have made and a recognition of the crucial support we receive from parishes in these areas.

“These, and so much else, are all a vital part of what it means to be a more Christ-like Church for the sake of God’s world: more contemplative, compassionate and courageous.

We’ve included more stories from our parishes, the people we serve, to inspire and encourage you, and the impact of Church House and area office staff, committees and councils. We work for every congregation, church, church school, parish and benefice."

– Bishop Steven and Canon Mark Humphriss
