Pray to the Father through the Son in the power of the Spirit for:

MONDAY 2 Buckingham: William Pearson-Gee - Rector, and others including Ope Aileye, Jo Wigley, Sam Graham, Lucia Pearson-Gee. For our ‘Love Buckingham’ mission week (15-22 March) and all the events that are planned that many would come to hear the good news of Jesus. Also for the right person to offer themselves as our new worship leader

TUESDAY 3 Garsington, Cuddesdon and Horspath: Tom Wallis - Vicar, Malcolm Surman, Sara Chesterfield-Terry, Richard Wyld, Caroline King. For our work with families, children and schools, that strong links continue to build. For courage and commitment as we seek to serve Christ in our Benefice. We pray for people to come forward and serve on PCCs and as church officers.

WEDNESDAY 4 Beckley, Forest Hill, Horton cum Studley and Stanton St John: Anthea Beresford - Vicar, Betty Dye, Nicholas Orme, Stephanie Bullock, Hugh Lee. Prayers for our work with Beckley CE Primary School, The Maple Tree and our other activities with children throughout the Four Parishes. Prayers for our congregations and all people within the Four Parishes, and giving thanks for all those who serve in so many varied ways to help keep our churches thriving.

THURSDAY 5 Great Milton with Little Milton and Great Haseley: Toby Garfitt, Andrew Meynell. For the appointment of a new Rector. For the continuing expansion of our work with children and families.

FRIDAY 6 Icknield, nr Luton: Daniel Thompson - Rector, Valerie Kearney, Angie Paterson. We give thanks for continued growth and pray for our family ministry. For our Lent course ‘Discovering Jesus through the Eucharist’.

SATURDAY 7 Bradfield Deanery: Grant Fensome - Area Dean, Julia Myles, Pam Slingsby, Stephen Billyeald. There are quite a few unwell clergy in the deanery. Prayers for swift recovery appreciated. For developing strategy around children and young people. Emerging missional desire following 'Pioneering Parishes Course'.

MONDAY 9 Aldermaston and Woolhampton: Jane Manley - Rector, Derek Spears. For unity across the benefice. For our ministry to wedding couples at Wasing.

TUESDAY 10 Bradfield, Bucklebury and Stanford Dingley nr Newbury: Steve Newbold - Team Rector, Lyn Bliss, Caroline Newbold, Julia Hunt. Our ongoing attempts to recruit a Team Vicar to join the Benefice. Our witness to children in the two CE schools in the Benefice: Bradfield CE Primary and Bucklebury CE Primary.

WEDNESDAY 11 Purley: David Archer - Rector, Aidan Jones, Sally Hince, Alan Gates. Fruitfulness in our evangelism and continued growth in our ministry with children and families.

THURSDAY 12 Basildon with Aldworth and Ashampstead: Grant Fensome - Vicar, Amy Cavender, Katy Weston, Rosemary Sandbach, Jonathan Sandbach, Mike Penny. That we might proclaim the gospel with boldness through the Easter Season. We might see new people signing up for explorer courses in the spring.

FRIDAY 13 Burghfield, nr Reading: Glynn Lautenbach - Rector, Wayne Lautenbach. We give thanks for our outreach to families, children and young people through our Bumps, Babies and Toddler Group, Crafty Church, film nights and youth club, and pray that we can build on the relationships formed in these groups and other outreach to families, children and youth. For our continued ministry and outreach to all ages in our parish.

SATURDAY 14 Englefield, nr Reading: Julia Myles - Rector. For our churchwardens Paula Fenwick and Torquil Montague-Johnstone. For the new headteacher of Englefield CE Primary School, Kate Galvin.

MONDAY 16 Sulhamstead Abbots and Bannister with Ufton Nervet: John Paton - Priest-in-Charge, Anthony Peabody. For our Choir Church project and our involvement with Bishop Mary’s Launchpad initiative.

TUESDAY 17 Theale: Martin Davy - Vicar, Alexander Richardson. Prayer for Martin as he receives treatment and slowly returns to work. Praise God for the church family being a great support, and for Alex joining the ministry team. Prayer regarding the potential of our church project - likely to go to consistory court. That the result would be that the church could have step-free access, toilets and flexible space for our growing congregation.

WEDNESDAY 18 Stratfield Mortimer and Mortimer West End with Padworth: Paul Chaplin - Vicar. That we would live our mission statement as the Body of Christ to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our soul and with all our strength; and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

THURSDAY 19 Pangbourne with Tidmarsh and Sulham: Mark Hopkins - Rector, Rachel Jeremiah, Barry Ashdown, Tony Naden. For our curate, Rev Rachel Jeremiah, as she considers her next steps once her curacy is completed. We give thanks for the blessing she has been to our parish, and pray for direction and vision as a parish as we move into the future.

FRIDAY 20 Buckingham Deanery: Quentin Chandler - Area Dean, Georgie Christopher, Nicki Stuchbury, Anthony White. Wisdom as we work with our new Area Dean to explore new ways to reach out to the deanery. For the right person to offer to be Lay Chair for the deanery.

SATURDAY 21 North Buckingham with Stowe: Hans Taling - Rector, Cathy Pearce, Margaret Culley. For all the lay people in our ministry team without whom the Benefice could never operate.

MONDAY 23 Lenborough: Quentin Chandler - Vicar, Jenny Shields, Sue Ambrose, Kay Bradley. The guidance of the Holy Spirit as we formulate Mission Action Plans for each parish and for the benefice. Outreach to our schools - Padbury CE School and Roundwood School.

TUESDAY 24 Please pray for the Vacancy-in-See Committee as they have their final meeting this evening, when they will agree the final version of the Statement of Needs and choose six of their number to join Crown Nominations Commission that will take the process of finding the new Bishop of Oxford forward from here. Please pray for godliness, unity and wisdom in the VISC’s discussions and decisions.

WEDNESDAY 25 Blackthorn Chase: John King, Rupert Bursell, John Hamilton, Pam King, Sally Green. For the Benefice as they go into interregnum, that the parishes will work together and God will call someone to come and minister here.

THURSDAY 26 West Buckingham: Paula Smith – Rector. Thanks to all our faithful church goers who make our services, churches and churchyards so welcoming. Prayers are continued for all our outreach, our community activities and the desire to spread the good news message to all. This season of Lent we call for renewal to come to those who attend our local study groups.

FRIDAY 27 Our link Diocese of Växjö, Sweden. For the upcoming Priest and Deacon Diocesan Conference. For the creation of Växjö diocese's Roadmap for the Climate document that will outline the diocesan vision in relation to climate and ecology. For young people in Växjö, particularly those going through confirmation classes and those engaging with young leader programmes. 

SATURDAY 28 Chipping Norton Deanery: Sarah Sharp - Area Dean, Catherine Hitchens, Sam Shaw, Nicholas Case. For Hook Norton with Great Rollright, Swerford and Wigginton during their vacancy and for their PCCs and administrator. For the elections of new deanery representatives and Lay Chair.

MONDAY 30 Chipping Norton: James Kennedy - Team Rector, and the whole ministry team. For Bethany Boddy, Parish Nurse, as she embarks on this new ministry. For the launch of a new congregation in March.

TUESDAY 31 The Chase Benefice (Chadlington, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Spelsbury and Enstone): Mark Abrey - Rector. For the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we continue to build up our common life across the Benefice and look for new people to become Wardens and PCC Members. For the welcome that we offer as a totally inclusive church community, especially to the LGBTQIA+ community.

SUNDAY 1
Please continue to pray that even now the Lord will be preparing and leading us towards the right person to serve as the next Bishop of Oxford. Give thanks for all those who are working so hard on this and pray that, as a Diocese, we will be persistent in praying for God’s help.
For all those being confirmed in Littlemore and St Edward’s School by Bishop Steven, at Radley College by Bishop Henry Scriven and at Cox Green by Bishop Mary.

SUNDAY 8
For all those being confirmed in Cholsey with Moulsford Benefice by Bishop Gavin.

For all those being confirmed at St Andrew & St Mary Maidenhead by Bishop Rob Munro.

For all those being confirmed at Bradfield College and St Frideswide by Bishop Steven, in the Cherwell Valley Benefice (Bicester & Islip) by Bishop Gavin and at Summerfields School by Bishop David Jennings.
