A moving evensong service took place at Christ Church Cathedral on Tuesday when the Revd David Meakin was installed as an Honorary Canon. The honour is in recognition of 35 years’ humble service in the Diocese of Oxford and the wider Church of England.
Nineteen deacons were ordained priests at four services across the diocese this weekend. Services were held at Dorchester Abbey, St Mary’s Amersham, St Giles Church Oxford and Reading Minster.
Set up in the pandemic to ensure exhausted medical staff had a decent meal at the end of a long day, Meals from Marlow has served its 200,000th meal.

Family, friends, colleagues and parishioners from across the Diocese of Oxford gathered in High Wycombe to remember the Rt Revd Dr Alan Wilson on Saturday. His memorial service was held at All Saints church in the town where more than 300 people attended in remembrance of the Bishop of Buckingham.
