A national appeal has been launched to help the people of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands after Hurricane Melissa devastated the area last month.
Today, Tuesday 25 November is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. St Mary’s Church in Banbury is bringing the community together to raise awareness of the issue and to be a voice for those affected by gender-based violence.
The 15th Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, the Rt Revd Leon Golding was enthroned on Sunday, watched by our Racial Justice Adviser the Revd Polly Falconer.
Over 40 people from the dioceses of Vaxjo and Oxford came together to mark this year’s Creationtide, and reflect on themes of peace, unity and justice.

For Kaid Henry and Helen Schneider, who were part of a youth exchange between the Diocese of Oxford and the Diocese of Kimberley and Kuruman last year, attending the day conference Seeking the Kingdom alongside our global partners event in Reading required a journey … in Helen’s case all the way from Birmingham.
Speakers from all of our link dioceses will be coming together next week for the Partners in World Mission conference.
