John Sykes (Chair of the Panel)

John has served on Diocesan Synod for 12 years and as Lay Chair for the last six. He is a member of Bishop’s Council and the Finance Committee and chairs the Human Resources and Development Fund Panels.

He has served as Lay Chair and Secretary of Maidenhead and Windsor Deanery. He is PCC Secretary at Cookham Dean where he was churchwarden for 14 years. 
In his working career, John specialised in the governance and regulation of competitive markets and chaired a number of national governing bodies. He was also a pension fund trustee for 25 years, including seven years as chair.

Revd Canon Chris Bull

Chris is Associate Archdeacon of Buckingham and brings to the Panel his experience in over 30 years of ordained ministry: as curate in a rural benefice of nine churches, as incumbent of a suburban village parish for over 25 years (overseeing church growth and a substantial building project), as area dean for eight years and as Assistant / Associate Archdeacon of Buckingham Archdeaconry since 2017.  

Revd Canon Rachel Carnegie

Rachel is chaplain at All Souls College, Oxford and associate priest in the Dorchester Team. She is currently interim chair of the Diocese’s Partnership in World Mission Council.

Previously, Rachel was Executive Director of the Anglican Alliance, which connects and supports the churches and agencies of the worldwide Anglican Communion in areas of development, relief and advocacy. She continues to engage with churches around the Communion in support of their holistic mission.

Rachel has also served as the Archbishop of Canterbury's Secretary for International Development and worked with Unicef, Save the Children, and Tearfund. 
Her experience and skills include: envisioning for holistic mission (Five Marks of Mission); social justice and inclusion; project design, development and financial management.

Alison Eves

Alison is a churchwarden in Burghfield, Berkshire and has been treasurer and served on the PCC for many years. She also has a Bishop's Licence to preach. She brings experience of helping to run a church with lots of ideas and no reserves! 
In her time at St Mary's Burghfield, the parish has fundraised for and built a Parish Centre, and paid for and managed the re-ordering of the interior of the church to install underfloor heating. 

Alison originally qualified as a chartered accountant, retrained as a secondary maths teacher, and now coordinates maths masterclasses for the Royal Institution: she loves working with numbers.

Mark Humphriss

As Diocesan Secretary since July 2019, Mark leads the staff teams at Church House and the implementation of the diocese’s strategic work.  He has regular contact with parishes across the diocese and has been part of churches of various sizes, rural and urban.  

Mark has been a trustee of various organisations.  He was previously part of the senior management team of the University of Bath for 12 years and before that worked for the Church of England nationally in a variety of roles, including for the Church Urban Fund (a grant-making charity). 

His skills and experience lie particularly in the area of leadership, management, strategy, finance and governance.

Revd Canon Sally Lodge

Sally is Rector of Windsor and has been in parish ministry serving as incumbent and area dean in contrasting settings in the Dioceses of Chelmsford and Oxford since ordination. She has served in a rural team ministry comprising six churches, in a town and villages team ministry with seven churches, (including two Grade 1 listed buildings) and, currently, as Rector of Windsor, with four town-centre churches, all listed buildings. 
During her ministry, she has been involved in several building / upgrade projects, including those encompassing social outreach and mission. Prior to ordination, she worked as a solicitor in private practice.

Revd Mark Meardon

Mark is Vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Hazlemere. He has served in the Diocese of Oxford for over 25 years, as a youth pastor and vicar.

As a youth pastor, Mark planted Eternity Youth Church developing many creative worship and missional opportunities, including schools work, youth mentoring, and a youth nightclub. In addition, many young people were trained in leadership.

Mark values local mission, ministry to the emerging generations and the training and equipping of young leaders through the development of fresh expressions, youth outreach, and placements. Most recently the church completed an extensive re-ordering which included launching a cafe and community hub to serve the parish.

Revd Paul Oxley

Paul planted St Mark's, Milton Keynes in 2012 and continues to lead it in mission to the city of Milton Keynes. He is also Area Dean of Milton Keynes. The church feeds thousands of children each year through over 100 partner schools and has become a leading advocate for children living in poverty in Milton Keynes. Paul used to contribute to BBC Radio 2 Pause for Thought programmes and coaches a small number of church planters, clergy and pioneers. He used to be good at sport but mostly now just watches it.

Tina Shaw

Tina is Lay Chair of Bicester and Islip Deanery, the Deanery’s Diocesan Synod representative and the deputy churchwarden at St Laurence’s Caversfield where she enjoys the relaxed worship style and its focus on creation-centred liturgy. She also hosts the monthly all-age outdoor worship on her farm. She is passionate in her advocacy of the rural church, supporting the challenges and celebrating the blessings that come with worship in an ever-changing rural environment.  

After training as a journalist, Tina has built a career in sales and revenue operations.  She has worked for a wide variety of organisations in the tech space with extensive experience in managing projects across different countries. Currently, she leads a team tasked with improving internal business process and technology environments.

Janet is Head of Grants, Projects and Governance at the Diocese of Oxford and is Secretary and Adviser to the Panel.

Fiona McGrady

Fiona is Development Fund Administrator and Clerk to the Panel.
