200 years of St Mary's, Banbury

Hundreds of origami cranes hang from St Mary's, Banbury, as part of their arts festival. The cranes are lit in vibrant colours

Celebrating 200 years of the St Mary's church building, in the heart of Banbury, Oxfordshire, Festival 200 is an ongoing programme of creative arts events to mark the occasion.

The Reverend Sarah Bourne, Chaplain for the Arts, has curated the programme, which started earlier this year and runs throughout the autumn. Alongside regular talks and workshops, a stunning exhibition of origami cranes was installed in the church in July - and due to its popularity, it's available to see until October.

Sarah joined BBC Radio Oxford earlier in August to talk about Festival 200 and their inspiring art installation.

"It's a suspended art installation, and it's been done as a joint community project... Cranes have come very much to symbolise peace, reconciliation and flourishing in the hope of getting better."
