What does Christmas look like in Sweden?
Our friends at the Diocese of Växjö share their favourite traditions for Christmas time - from Saint Lucia and star boys to gingerbread men and tomtenisse.
Diocesan assistant professor Ida Wreland explains the legen of Saint Lucia, who comes with the light at the darkest time of year.
"To be honest, we don't exactly know how the Lucia tradition came to Sweden. The celebration is a mixture of folklore, historical facts, legends, and, as always when it comes to our most beloved Swedish Christmas traditions, imported German figments."
