We take a look back to 2019 to see clergy posts taken up and left in the Diocese. Please note this list will have some omissions; not all developments are publicised.
In January:
The Revd Timothy Wood became Associate Minister, Walbury Beacon. The Revd Canon Rita Ball left her post as Associate Minister, St George and St John, Newbury. The Revd Timothy Laundon became Rector, Ludgershall and Tidworth in the Diocese of Salisbury.
The Revd Sarah Flashman became Associate Minister, Benefice of Wolvercote and Wytham. The Revd Christopher Ackford became Team Rector, South Chilterns Benefice. The Revd Vincent Gardner left the post of Vicar, St John the Evangelist and St Stephen, Reading.
The Revd Nnamdi Maduka became Associate Minister, St Mary's, Denham. The Revd Ian Jennings became Associate Minister, St Mary's, Denham. The Revd Dr Neil Popham became Team Vicar, Stantonbury Ecumenical Partnership, Milton Keynes. The Revd Patricia Bhutta retired from the post of Associate Minister, Benefice of Aldermaston and Woolhampton. The Revd Anthony Buckley became Vicar, St Michael at the Northgate. The Revds Verena Breed, Christopher Bull and Stephen Pullin were installed as Honorary Canons of Christ Church Cathedral.
In February:
The Revd Sarah Bourne became Associate Minister, St Mary's, Banbury. The Revd John Chesterfield-Terry became Vicar, Colnbrook and Datchet. The Revd Christopher Woods became Vicar, St Barnabas and St Paul with St Thomas the Martyr. The Revd Carol Hill became Associate Minister, Bicester with Bucknell, Caversfield and Launton. The Revd Sarah Sharp became Area Dean, Deddington in addition to Vicar, Bodicote.
The Revd Dr Phillip Tovey became Warden of Readers. The Revd Raymond Pentland became Associate Minister, Holy Trinity, Walton. The Revd Benjamin Phillips became Vicar, Goring and Streatley with South Stoke. The Revd Patricia Jones left her post as Team Vicar, Thatcham in order to take up the post of Vicar, St Peter's, London Colney in the Diocese of St Albans. The Revd Matthew Beeby became Rector, St James, Gerrards Cross with Fulmer.
We were sad to hear of the death of The Revd Canon Anthony Williamson.
In March:
The Revd Philip Wells became Vicar, Wantage benefice. The Revd Brendan Bailey became Associate Minister, St Mary, Purley. The Revd Wayne Lautenbach became Team Rector, Hermitage Team Ministry. The Revd Teresia Derlen left her post as Associate Minister, Prestwood and Great Hampden in order to take up the post of Associate Priest in the Swedish Church in London (Ulrika Eleonora Church). The Revd William Jackson left his post as Vicar, Burnham.
The Revd Jennifer Brown became Associate Minister, Abingdon on Thames. The Revd Rickey Simpson-Gray became Team Vicar, Claydons and Swan Team Ministry. The Revd Michelle Porter-Babbage became Associate Minister, Warfield. The Revd David Brown became Associate Minister, Warfield. We were sad to hear of the death of The Revd Michael Allso.
In April:
The Revd Benjamin Kautzer became Rector, Oakley with Wootton St Lawrence in the Diocese of Winchester. The Revd Andrew Parry became Priest in Charge, Wexham.
The Revd Simon Cronk became Area Dean, Aston and Cuddesdon in addition to Rector of Great Milton with Little Milton and Great Haseley. The Revd Ben Vane became the Leader of Grace Church, Cowley (church plant of St Ebbe, Oxford). We were sad to hear of the death of The Revd William Stewart.
In May:
The Revd Susan Webster was licensed as Team Vicar, Hermitage. The Revd Dr Darrell Hannah completed his time as Area Dean of Bracknell. The Revd Samuel Allberry left his post as Associate Minister, St Andrew and St Mary, Maidenhead. The Revd Canon Janet Faull became Rector, Hook Norton with Great Rollright, Swerford and Wigginton.
The Revd Dr Laura Biron-Scott became Vicar, Holy Trinity, Headington Quarry. The Revd Dr Hugh White became Associate Minister, Witney Team.
In June:
The Revd Canon Sally Lodge became Team Rector, New Windsor Team Ministry. The Revd Leslie Jesudason became Vicar, Christ Church, Croydon in the Diocese of Southwark. The Revd Joy Mawdesley became Associate Rector, St Nicolas, Newbury and St Mary, Speen.
The Revd Mark Ainsworth became Priest in Charge, Nettlebed with Bix, Pishill, Rotherfield Greys and Nuffield. The Revd Dr Peter Day became Associate Area Dean of Reading in addition to Vicar, Christ Church, Reading. The Revd Dr Samuel Muthuveloe became Associate Minister, Cross and Stable Downs Bar - Stantonbury Ecumenical Parnership. The Revd Joanna-Sue Gallant became Team Vicar, Terriers. The Revd Jennifer Morton became Associate Minister, Dorchester Team.
The Revd Malcolm Chalmers became Associate Minister, Bracknell Team Ministry. The Revd Patricia Mander became Associate Minister, Wychert Vale. The Revd Guy Cole became Area Dean of Bracknell in addition to Rector, Benefice of Easthampstead.

The Revd Neil Warwick left his post as Vicar, St Nicolas, Earley and Associate Area Dean of Reading to take up the post of Archdeacon of Bristol. The Revd Huw Mordecai became Vicar, Winkfield Cranbourne and Chavey Down. The Revd Heather Graham became Team Vicar, St James Church, Downley.
The Revd Margot Suter became Associate Minister, Beaconsfield Team Ministry. The Revd Alison Roberts became Associate Minister, Aston Clinton with Buckland and Drayton Beauchamp. The Revd Stephen Cousins became Associate Minister, Benson with Ewelme. The Revd Sharon Roberts became Team Vicar, St Michael and All Angels, Beaconsfield.
The Revd Daniel Walters became Associate Minister, St Giles, St Philip and St James with St Margaret. The Revd Thomas Putt became Vicar, Burford with Fulbrook, Taynton, Asthall, Swinbrook and Widford. The Revd Michael Wilcockson became Curate, St Mary's, Linton, in the Diocese of Ely. The Revd James Stephenson left his post as Chaplain, Blue Coat School, Reading in order to become Co-ordinator of Sports Outreach and Chaplain in Zambia.
In August:
The Revd Michael Lakey became Vicar, Chalgrove with Berrick Salome. The Revd Dr Graeme Fancourt left his post as Vicar, St Luke with St Bartholomew, Reading to take up the post of Associate Minister, St Mary the Virgin, Reading (continuing as Area Dean of Reading).
The Revd Deborah Davison became Rector, Holy Trinity and St Barnabas, Paisley and the Good Shepherd, Hillington, Glasgow. The Revd Andrew Tweedy became Rector, Brize Norton and Carterton.
We were sad to hear of the death of The Revd Samuel James Newell.
In September:
The Revd Christopher Ashton became Curate, the Vale. The Revd Martin Davy became Rector, Holy Trinity, Theale. The Revd Leon Collyer became Priest in Charge of The Saints benefice in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
The Revd Richard Lamey became Acting Assistant Archdeacon of Berkshire in addition to Rector, St Paul, Wokingham and Area Dean of Sonning. The Revd Stephen Pullin became Acting Archdeacon of Berkshire. This role was in addition to Vicar, St Mary the Virgin, Reading.
The Revd Margot Hodson became Associate Minister, Shill Valley and Broadshire. The Revd Michael Cotterell left his post as Vicar, St Paul, Slough. The Revd Elizabeth Simpson became Vicar, Adderbury with Milton. The Revd Philip Derbyshire completed his time as Rural Dean, Mursley.
The Revd Norma Fergusson became Vicar, Shrivenham and Ashbury. The Revd Alan Gates retired from the post of Associate Minister, Langtree Benefice. The Revd Dr Andrew Lord became Priest in Charge, All Saints, Didcot and Bishop's Advisor for Didcot Garden Town. The Revd Jennifer Williams became Vicar, St Matthew with St Luke.
The Revd Jon Williams became Associate Minister, St Matthew with St Luke. The Revd Dr Ruben Angelici became Vicar, South with New Hinksey. The Revd William Donaldson left his posts as PCC employee, St Aldate's Church; University Chaplain, St Edmund's Hall; Oxford Area Dean in order to become Director of New Congregations for the Diocese of Oxford in October. The Revd Teresa Stewart-Sykes became Team Vicar, Dorchester.
In October:
The Revd Janice Macdonald became Associate Minister, St Nicolas, Newbury and St Mary, Speen. The Revd Claire Alcock became Vicar, St John the Evangelist, Reading. The Revd Gary Collins became Associate Vicar, St George and St John, Newbury.
The Revd Richard Selby-Boothroyd became Chaplain to Air Training Corps, Windsor. The Revd Simon Cansdale resigned from his post as Team Rector, Great Chesham in order to take up the post of Vicar, Christ Church, Winchester. The Revd Captain Peter Simmons left his post as Vicar, Holy Trinity, Penn Street with Christ Church, Holmer Green. The Revd Janet Minkkinen became Vicar, Burnham.
The Revd Sylvester Liyanage left his post as Team Vicar, Great Chesham. The Revd Janet Wales became Priest in Charge, Ellesborough, The Kimbles and Stoke Mandeville. The Revd Matthew Beer left his post as Curate, Bletchley in order to become Strategic Development Fund Resource Church Planter in Telford. The Revd Alan Garratt retired from his post as Team Rector, Thame.
The Revd Canon James Mynors became Associate Minister, Cherbury with Gainfield. The Revd Anthony Buckley became Area Dean, Oxford Deanery in addition to Vicar, St Michael in the Northgate. The Revd Robert Thewsey became Area Dean, Henley in addition to the post of Rector of Shiplake with Dunsden and Harpsden.
In November:
The Revd Helen Barnes became Team Rector, Cherwell Valley. The Revd William Watts retired from the post of Vicar, Basildon, Aldworth and Ashampstead. The Revd Daniel Rodgers became Vicar, Loudwater.
The Revd Canon Alan Hodgetts retired from the post of Prison Chaplain, HMP Woodhill. The Revd Mary Cruddas left the post of Team Vicar, Waddesdon, Westcott, Upper Winchendon and Fleet Marston. The Revd Nadine Rose became Associate Priest, Benefice of Wendover and Halton.
The Revd Didier Jaquet became Associate Minister, Winslow.
The Venerable Olivia Graham became Bishop of Reading.
In December:
The Revd Terry Ward-Hall was ordained and became Curate, Sunningdale. The Revd Paul Thomas left his post as Chaplain of Wellington College. The Revd Daniel Beesley became Priest in Charge, Bierton and Hulcott. The Revd Simon Winn became Associate Minister, Great Chesham.
The Revd Andrew Krauss became Associate Minister, Cheddington with Mentmore. The Revd Dr Theresa Kuin Lawton became Area Dean, Dorchester Archdeaconry. The Revd Canon Alan Hodgetts was installed as Canon Emeritus, Christ Church Cathedral.
