Diocesan synod met on Saturday 21 March 2015 at St Andrew's Hatters Lane, High Wycombe. After a presidential address by the Bishop of Dorchester , the synod received an annual report from the Sub dean of Christ Church.
The Bishop of Buckingham , the Rt Revd Alan Wilson, and the Director of Education, Anne Davey, gave an update on the work of the Board of Education.
The Synod then approved the Board of Education's revised constitutionThe Chair of the Board of Finance, the Revd John Tattersall, and the Diocesan Secretary, Rosemary Pearce, then gave synod a presentation on plans to move from Diocesan Church House to new offices. John Tattersall explained that the aim was that the project would be overall cost-neutral in terms of the impact on the parish share, given that the current site will be sold for development and the new offices will result in lower running costs and save significantly on renting alternative premises when DCH is unable to host meetings and events.
If all goes smoothly, the office move will take place towards the end of 2015. After coffee the Archdeacon of Oxford introduced a discussion on inter-faith issues as they affect the Diocese.
The synod approved the change of name from the diocesan "committee for interfaith concerns" to the "committee for interfaith relations". The Chair of the Board of Finance presented the year-end results for 2014.
The meeting ended with a reflection by the Archdeacon of Dorchester.
