AN open studio with Jenny Adin-Christie, the embroiderer and textile artist, took place this summer at St Mary's, Beaconsfield.

St Mary's has commissioned Jenny to make new altar frontals and invited the community to come and to see her working on this prestigious project.

Over 190 visitors viewed an exhibition of Jenny's textiles and had the opportunity to chat with her about her work and techniques.

Jenny also gave a lecture on her work to a packed out church. Jenny has worked on many Church commissions and designed work for other historic buildings.

She trained at the Royal School of Needlework and has a passion to create works with a contemporary look that fit into a traditional setting and are sustainable.

Jenny is also a well-respected tutor who travels the world to teach a variety of traditional and modern textile techniques.

Her traditional whitework techniques were employed on the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress in 2011. Jenny Adin-Christie will be returning to St Mary's on 16 th and 17 th November 2016 when we welcome local schools to come and explore her work.

To mark this historic project, there will be an opportunity to join in the creative fun and congregtion members will be able to add their own stitches to the new altar frontal.
