THE Activities Week, for residents of the new housing development to the north and west of Didcot on Great Western Park, was another big success this year.

Put on by Churches Together in Didcot, the five days of free activities attracted over 1,600 adults and children.

There was a huge variety of activities, from a big 'Fun in the Park' event with an inflatable assault course and outdoor activities, magic shows to street dance and football skills training.

The Revd Mark Bodeker, who helped organise the week, commented on the importance of these events to build community cohesion and a sense of identity; "Good advertising helps attract people but I sense that people come mostly because they trust us and enjoy what we put on.

This offers a great opportunity for witness," he said.
