A new face will be joining the team at Church House in September as we welcome Kim Grosvenor to the Director of Secretariat role.
Kim will head up the secretariat department which includes the church buildings team and the Development Fund, lead on governance and compliance which includes oversight of elections and risk and data protection, oversee our external grant funding streams, and deputise for the Diocesan Secretary when required. Kim comes with 17 years’ governance and public service experience, most recently as Chief of Staff at NHS Sussex. This is a new role, replacing another.
She said: “I have always enjoyed mission-focused work. I went to law school because I was driven by this sense of social justice. Policy and advocacy work followed and then public service and the opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives and focusing on inequalities, so this role felt really meaningful to me.
“I have a governance background and I really do enjoy governance and bringing my legal skills to the fore.”
During her 11 years with NHS Sussex, Kim has worked as Director of Corporate Delivery as well as both operational and strategic roles overseeing the Covid response in Sussex, working as a commissioner for older people services, mental health and dementia, as well as reviewing services for children, young people and their emotional health and wellbeing across the county.

Kim is a regular church-goer and has enjoyed supporting the 950th anniversary celebrations at Chichester over the past year. She will re-locate to Oxford for this role where she hopes to explore the Oxfordshire countryside with her partner and grumpy miniature Schnauzer Tomas. When not out walking, Kim can be found cooking Italian food and indulging her passion for church architecture and buildings.
