14 April 2019 - The Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol, announced this morning the appointment of Revd Neil Warwick as the new Archdeacon of Bristol.
Currently Assistant Area Dean for Reading and vicar of St Nicolas Earley in the Diocese of Oxford, Neil will take up his new post in the summer. It was on a trip to Zambia in 2000 that Neil first sensed God's call to the church.
After training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, he was ordained in 2003 at Peterborough Cathedral.
He served his curacy in the market town of Towcester and in 2009 he became the Vicar of St Nicolas Earley, a busy suburban churchAnnouncing the appointment this morning Bishop Viv said: "Those who met Neil at interview encountered a priest who embodies humanity formed by Christ. "It is a sentiment echoed by many of us here in the Diocese of Oxford: "Neil is an outstanding priest and colleague," says The Rt Revd Andrew Proud, Bishop of Reading.
"His love for people and his enthusiasm for ministry and mission is infectious.
He has done a great job at St Nic's and we shall miss him as a friend and colleague.
