The 15th Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, the Rt Revd Leon Golding was enthroned on Sunday, watched by our Racial Justice Adviser the Revd Polly Falconer.
The service took place at the Cathedral of St Jago de la Vega in Spanish Town, the oldest Anglican church outside of the UK.
We pray for Bishop Leon and his ministry in our link diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. We thank God for his willingness to serve his church and ask that he receives the strength, grace and wisdom he needs to lead the diocese.
Revd Polly Falconer said: "It was a blessing to represent the diocese at the installation of Bishop Leon Golding as the new Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, our most recent link diocese. There were almost 700 attendees, including bishops and others from across the Caribbean.
"I also had the pleasure of reconnecting with the brothers and sisters that Revd Paul Cowan and I worked with last year. The service was solemn and uplifting. I look forward to the continued development and the shared learning and opportunities that our link with Jamaica and the Cayman Islands will provide."
