Roundtable to vision a flourishing and inclusive Oxford

Oxford Citizens (of which the Diocese of Oxford is a member) brought together representatives from 40 local organisations to explore how together we could build a fairer and more just Oxford.

Members of Oxford’s education (schools and universities), faith (churches, mosques, synagogues), and community (charity, community groups) gathered to learn how Oxford Citizens has begun to develop leaders, strengthen institutions, and win change for local people, and invite others to become about Community Organising methodology, and hearing stories of alliances in London and Brighton & Hove. Oxford Citizens were also able to showcase their recent campaign, where, with the charity Asylum Welcome, they won free bus day-passes for asylum seekers in Oxford.

The Roundtable event concluded with inviting organisations in attendance to explore joining Oxford Citizens as member organisations to work together on issues that matter to local people and those their organisations serve.
