CHILDREN at Burchett's Green CE Infant School, near Maidenhead in Berkshire tasted what life would have been like in the 1930s and 40s at a rural village school.
The themed day introduced this term's topic of Narnia, with children getting first-hand experience of how the children from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe would have lived.
In the morning the pupils attended school dressed as evacuees attending a country farm school.
They had the chance to feed and clean out goats, sheep and a Shetland pony (pictured above).
When they were not farming they were taught in the style children would have been taught in during the War, by teachers who were dressed as Land Girls.
In the afternon they entered Narnia through the school's own magic wardrobe which was created by a team of teachers, and took part in activities based in the fantasy world of Narnia.
