It felt rather fitting that it was St David’s Day as Buckinghamshire people gathered to welcome their new bishop, the Rt Revd Dave Bull at All Saints, High Wycombe.
Bishop Mary Gregory and Bishop Dave Bull were consecrated as Bishop of Reading and Bishop of Buckingham, respectively, in a service led by the Archbishop of York at Canterbury Cathedral today.
Following the publication of the Makin Review, the National Safeguarding Team and Diocese of Oxford received information of sexual abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour concerning the Revd David Fletcher (deceased) towards women and girls.
This Saturday during the Evensong service at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford, 11 people will be recognised for their service to the church. Eight of them will be made honorary canons and three candidates will be admitted to the Order of St Frideswide.
