St Matthew’s Church, Oxford, share their experience of producing a community passion play to help and encourage other churches and communities.
St Andrew’s new Church building uses renewable energy to power, heat and light the space and is a valuable centre for the whole community to use and enjoy.
The Development Fund has awarded grants to nine churches to support a range of local church and community projects including a live nativity procession, Parish Nurse, and toddler group for adoptive and foster families.
The Chaplaincy programme at the Marlborough Church of England School serves young people in Woodstock and the surrounding villages.
At Trinity Community Centre and church in Fishermead, Milton Keynes, an internet cafe funded by a grant from the Development Fund helps tackle digital poverty.
An after-school club for local families in Henley-on-Thames was funded by a grant from the Development Fund.
During the pandemic, the Toddler Drop-In ministry team at St John the Baptist kept in touch with local families via weekly doorstep conversations.
With the support of the Development Fund, St Barnabas, Oxford, establishes a youth choir to boost engagement with young people.
Nine parishes receive a Development Fund grant to support social action, new congregations and building projects.
After closure of their village pub, St Mary the Virgin Church set up a pop-up bar within their building as a focal point for the community.
