Clergy and laity from across the Church of England joined together for the 2024 Oxford Intercultural Mission Conference.
A ground-breaking community hub – The Branch – has opened in Chipping Norton, thanks to years of support from St Mary’s Church in the town.
Around 50 civic, community, and faith leaders met on Sunday 9 June, hosted by Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. The aim was to build relationships and share local insights and experiences to mitigate the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict on the diverse communities of the Thames Valley region.
Hannah Ling is the Social Justice Advisor at the Diocese of Oxford supporting churches across the Thames Valley to address poverty and inequality, and oversees the diocesan LGBTQIA+ Chaplaincy.
Continuing with their pledge to ‘make Oxford a better place for everyone’, Thames Valley Citizens have kick-started their campaign by focussing on housing justice, inclusive jobs and the safety of women and girls.

Over 160 people representing 24 local organisations have celebrated the launch of Reading Citizens, a community alliance coming together to influence change in their local area.
Launched last week, the Warm Welcome Campaign aims to grow their network of over 7,000 Warm Welcome Spaces so that when the clocks go back, everyone can access warm and welcoming space.
